Privacy Policy

Conform is a Christian spiritual habits app that helps you pray, read the Bible, memorize Scripture, journal, track reading, and build habits that draw you closer to Jesus. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the app, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices and rights you have over your data.

1. Who We Are

Conform is operated by the Conform team (conformtojesus.org). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

a. Account and identity information When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a unique user identifier. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email address those providers share with us.

b. Your spiritual habit content To provide the core features of the app, we store the content you create and the progress you make, including journal entries, prayer items and lists, Bible reading progress, reading plans, highlighted verses, Scripture memorization progress, book tracker entries, habit completions, streaks, reminder preferences, mission statements, responsibilities, daily reflections, and daily verse or vocabulary interactions.

c. Social and community data If you use the community features, we store and share with other participants your display name, avatar, email address, friend requests, explicit shared prayers, group membership, and role.

d. Device permissions you grant The app only accesses device permissions when you enable the relevant feature, including Screen Time / Family Controls / Device Activity, location, calendar, notifications, and photos. Conform does not receive your underlying app usage data from Apple's Screen Time frameworks.

e. AI-assisted features Some features send relevant verse text and prompts to OpenAI through our backend so a response can be generated. Your account identifier is not shared with OpenAI in the prompt body, but the request itself is processed by OpenAI under their API data policy. Do not paste information into these prompts that you would not want processed by a third-party model.

f. Purchases and subscriptions In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple shares a receipt and subscription status with us so we can unlock entitlements; Apple does not share your payment card or Apple ID credentials with us.

g. Technical and diagnostic data We receive standard technical information needed to operate the app, including a device identifier for push notifications, app version, and basic request logs from our backend. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use data to authenticate you, sync your habit data, deliver reminders, enable social features you opt into, generate AI responses for clearly marked AI features, debug problems, prevent abuse, and improve the app. We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not train AI models on your journal, prayers, or other personal content.

4. Who Processes Your Data

We rely on trusted service providers including Supabase, Apple, Google, OneSignal, and OpenAI. Each provider acts on our behalf and is bound by its own terms and privacy obligations.

5. Social Visibility

Anything you explicitly share, including prayers shared with a friend, joining a group, or accepting a friend request, is visible to the people you share it with. Your journal entries, private prayers, and habit history are never shared unless you choose to share them.

6. Children

Conform is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email contact@conformtojesus.org and we will remove the account.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data from within the app. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our standard rotation, and we may retain minimal records where required by law.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. You can exercise access, correction, export, and deletion in the app or by emailing contact@conformtojesus.org.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit and encryption at rest on our backend provider. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and sign out of shared devices.

10. International Transfers

Our backend providers may store and process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the Last Updated date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Conform after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
